Sterling Silver St. Peregrine Medal (20X15 MM)
The Men's Jewelry Store (Unisex Jewelry)

Peregrine Laziosi was canonized in 1726, and has been named the Patron Saint of those suffering from cancer. He was born in Forli, Italy around 1265. He politically opposed the papacy but after experiencing the forgiveness of St. Philip Benizi, he became a priest and later established a Servite community. He spent his life dedicating himself to the sick and the poor. He imposed on himself the penance of standing whenever it was not necessary to sit. This led to varicose veins, which deteriorated into an open sore on his leg, and eventually diagnosed as cancer. His wound became so serious that the local surgeon decided to amputate the leg. The night before the surgery, Peregrine prayed before the image of the crucified Christ, and when he awoke, the wound was healed and his leg saved. Peregrine’s trust in God therefore serves as a model for those dealing with sickness. The National Shrine of Saint Peregrine is located at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago, Illinois, and a St. Peregrine Shrine is also at The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother in Portland, Oregon.
It’s fitting this is finely crafted in silver, since the spiritual meaning of silver symbolizes strength, spirit, divinity, wisdom and purity. Shaman believe silver offers protection from negativity and evil; it is known as the metal of love and healing. This is 'earth friendly' as it is made with the Refined Karats system certified by Scientific Certification Systems' (SCS) strict environmental, social, and supply requirements.
The rising price of silver makes this a great investment.
