Peridot is ideal for lovers of green—whose approachable, balanced nature is reflected in the gem’s verdant hue. Hawaiian's treasured Peridot, believing the gem to be the tears of the Goddess Pele. Romans named the gem ‘Evening Emerald’ because its brilliant color didn't fade in lamplight; instead seemed to glow in the night.
