Rhodium Plated 14k Yellow Gold Infant Jesus Medal (18.5 MM)

The Infant Jesus of Prague depicts the statue of the Christ Child which has been preserved since 1628 in the Carmelite Church of Our Lady of Victory in Prague, Czech Republic. The small statue is a 19-inch high, wooden and coated wax representation of the Infant Jesus. The right hand is extended in blessing, with two fingers raised symbolizing the two natures of Jesus Christ and the three folded fingers representing the Holy Trinity. The left hand holds an imperial orb surmounted by a cross, signifying sovereignty. Devotion to the Child of Prague is worldwide. A wedding gift of a statue of the Child of Prague is particularly auspicious. The practice of putting it out in the hedge or burying it in the garden as a solicitation for good weather is widespread in many parts of Ireland. Feast Day is the third Sunday in May.
