Martha is the patron saint of servants, housewives, cooks, waiters, hotel keepers and laundry workers, all stemming from her hospitality to Jesus who apparently was a frequent guest at Martha's home in Bethany, a small village two miles from Jerusalem. After Jesus’s death, Martha traveled to France to preach, eventually died in Tarascon and is the patron saint of that city. Her Feast Day is July 29.
