One of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, St. Peter is recognized in the early Christian church as the leader of the disciples and, by the Roman Catholic Church, as the first of its unbroken succession of popes. He is associated with founding the Church of Antioch and later the church in Rome. It is believed that St. Peter's original name was Simon and that he was a fisherman who met Jesus through his brother Andrew. He played a leadership role and was with Jesus during events witnessed by only a few apostles. According to Christian tradition, Peter was crucified in Rome under Emperor Nero Augustus Caesar. His symbols include an inverted cross, a boat, and the cock. Every June 29 since 1736, a life-size statue of Saint Peter has been crowned in St. Peter's Basilica with a papal tiara, ring of the fisherman, and papal vestments, as part of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.

It’s fitting this is finely crafted in silver, the spiritual meaning of silver symbolizes strength, spirit, grace, divinity, wisdom and purity.
