St. Barbara is an early Christian saint and martyr who lived in the 3rd century in present-day Turkey or in Heliopolis in Egypt. Legend says she was kept in a tower by her tyrannical father, Dioscorus. She received Baptism in secret by a Christian priest. Barbara resisted her father's wish that she marry. To honor the Trinity, she had three windows built into a bathhouse her father was constructing. Enraged by her action and by her conversion, Dioscorus denounced her before the civil tribunal. She was tortured and be-headed by her father who was her executioner. Saint Barbara is often portrayed with chains and a tower and holds a chalice and sacramental wafer. Because of her association with lightning, she is known as the patron saint of artillerymen, military engineers, miners and others who work with explosives. The United States Army Field Artillery Association and United States Army Air Defense Artillery Association maintain the Order of Saint Barbara as an honorary military society. Her feast day is December 4.
It's fitting this is crafted of gold; it's said spiritual energy and power are activated and awakened by wearing or praying with gold. Gold represents the spiritual treasure gained by transforming the spirit; it also represents love in the Bible. This is earth friendly as it is made with the Refined Karats system certified by Scientific Certification Systems' (SCS) strict requirements. Proudly made in America with a green process of ethically, environmentally and socially responsible production processes of water, waste and energy management; this is from 100 percent recycled Karats.
The rising price of gold makes this, quite simply, a great investment all around.
